Urologist Dr. Clay Pendleton Joins SVH as Visiting Specialist
St. Vincent Health welcomes visiting Urologist, Clay Pendleton
Dr. Pendleton’s mission is to provide the highest evidence-based care with a focus on each patient’s individual needs. He stated, “I always strive to use minimally invasive surgical techniques if possible and am always open to non-surgical and holistic approaches when appropriate.”
Originally growing up in Texas, Dr. Pendleton completed both his undergraduate and medical degrees at Louisiana State University. He then moved to Houston where he completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas/MD Anderson, receiving extensive training in Robotics/Minimally Invasive Surgery, Urologic Oncology, as well as Female Pelvic Health/Urinary Incontinence and General Urology. Dr. Pendleton has also received additional training certifications from Intuitive for da Vinci Robotic Surgery and Coloplast for pelvic floor restoration and stress urinary incontinence.
Dr. Pendleton saw a strong need for urologic care in Lake County and Leadville through having many residents travelling to see him in his Vail and Summit clinics, which propelled him to join St. Vincent Health. He recognizes the value in patients receiving care and recovery in their hometown rather than travelling. Dr. Pendleton was also impressed by the vision for new St. Vincent Health and the new surgery center.
Dr. Pendleton and his wife Lizzy have an eight-year-old daughter, a six-year-old son, and a two-year-old golden retriever. They partake in many of the outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer such as rail running, skiing, and mountain biking. Dr. Pendleton also enjoys learning the Italian language and culture.
