The People Behind the Care: Materials Management
Our Materials Management Supervisor, Luis Gastelum, is integral to keepingSt. Vincent Health afloat. Every material purchased for all of our services and facilities is channeled through Luis. From surgical equipment to reams of paper, medications, IV bags, gauze strips, plumbing tools, and the occasional teddy bear for our pediatric patients—Luis will be sure to coordinate with the right vendors for timely deliveries. These materials allow our staff to perform their jobs and ensure that we provide excellent care to our patients.

Being raised in Leadville, it was important for Luis to work for a place that helped his community which is why he chose St. Vincent Health. “I am looking forward to seeing the future of SVH after seeing it go through a rough patch. I’m excited to be part of the recovery process,” Luis stated.
One fun fact about Luis is that he gets to work with both his mom and his sister (they are both surgical techs). When he isn’t busy ordering medical supplies, he can likely be found spending time with his handsome husky, Koda.
